About EMS

Located in the North East of England, Engineering and Marine Services Ltd (EMS) primarily work within the oil and gas, subsea and renewable energy sectors, providing project, manufacturing and production management.

At EMS our comprehensive understanding of the engineering process allows us to be the ‘engineering link’ between design and product delivery. Here at EMS our team understand the importance of delivering on spec and in time.

EMS offer and supply services in design, drawing, manufacturing, machining and surface treatment in all areas of fabrication including pipework, pressure vessels, cladding, structural and architectural steel, working in a range of materials from low carbon steel, AISI 4130, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, inconel alloys and aluminium.

EMS has recently gained its ISO 9001:2015 accreditation with LRQA which gives our client’s piece of mind that our quality management system meets industry standards.

Recognising an industry requirement for a link between the design and product completion phase of engineering, Engineering and Marine Services Ltd was formed in July 2012.

Since its creation EMS has secured and completed a number of contracts for some of the industry’s most prestigious companies, providing various machined items, fabrications and full project management at a number of locations across the North East.

Charlie Tindall

DIRECTOR

Charlie has been involved within the engineering industry for a number of years and has gained valuable experience with a full range of offshore equipment from subsea vehicles (ploughs/trenchers) to pipe lay systems (J-Lay, S-Lay and Flex Lay), he has managed and delivered full turnkey packages to some of the industry’s leading companies such as Saipem, Technip & McDermott

James Ogle

DIRECTOR

James has led numerous engineering projects throughout his career, both in the UK and worldwide. Over the past 15 years he has successfully executed large scale projects within the oil & gas industry by managing labour and sub-contractors throughout the assembly, testing & commissioning stages. James has worked on pipe lay systems, subsea trenchers/ploughs/jetting systems and general deck equipment such as (A-frames/winches/heave compensators).

Wayne Richardson

SYSTEMS AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Wayne has predominantly worked as a software analyst / engineer working for Capita Education and Pindar Set (Yellow Pages) for almost 10 years. During this time Wayne also worked developing and implementing bespoke software solutions for engineering companies across the North-East working with various machine and fabrication workshops.  Moving into engineering full-time with Barrier Offshore Engineering Wayne was responsible for developing internal IT systems, providing the quality assurance and documentation support for vessel and pipework fabrications produced for the offshore industry for over 9 years.
