C215 BHGE Tensile Weldment & Split Flange
BHGE required a Tensile Fixture to conduct destructive testing within their Research and Development department, the fabrication was required within a tight lead-time which EMS took on board with several obstacles such as running welding procedures to suit the thickness and material availability within the UK to suit the design.
EMS carried out the following tasks throughout the modifications to the Plough:
- Qualified a WPQR for S335G10 Tested @ -40 Deg C (Specific for Lift point)
- Sourced material to work within BHGE design spec and EMS re-designed to suit
- Conducted 100% NDT post weld operations (UT & MPI)
- Full Manufacturing Record Book supplied on completion
The above modifications were carried out to BHGE’s specifications and delivered within agreed timeframe.
